How a first letter lands
Hookupgpt treats the first letter as a finished note, not a ping. The other person should be able to answer it without guessing what you read.
Three moves
Open with a detail you could only have noticed by reading them. Cut the autobiography down to a clause. Ask one question, then stop. Three questions in the first note read as a form, and forms get one-word replies.
A letter that has somewhere to go
Here is a shape that works, with the names invented: “You mentioned restoring a kitchen radio instead of replacing it. I kept a cracked one on a shelf for two years and only then bought the tubes. Did the repair stay a weekend, or did it take the month?” That is one detail, one small fact about the writer, one question.
When to leave it
If the reply is a single word twice, the thread is finished. Hookupgpt does not reward another nudge. The house rules say the same thing in plainer language. Adults only; if you are under 18, do not write the letter at all.
